FAQs

Below are answers to common questions. If you have more questions, feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to answer them.

Q: How long does ghostwriting take?

Each project is unique and the time depends on the length and complexity of your book concept, your availability, and other factors. Memoirs generally take 10–12 months, self-help and other nonfiction 6–8 months, and novels 8–12 months. Once I review your book concept and any materials, I’ll have a better idea of how long your specific manuscript will take.

Book Proposals and Bestseller Marketing Plans alone take 3 months each. When done with a ghostwriting project they take 1 month each.

A Book Proposal, Publishing Plan, or Book Review (Analysis & Recommendations) each take several weeks depending on the length and complexity of the manuscript.

Q: How much do your services cost?

I take great care with each project so you get the attention and expertise you deserve and a finished product you love.

All fees are charged on a monthly payment plan via credit/debit cards or PayPal. Prices are based on current standards in the publishing industry and vary greatly depending on the length, complexity, and stage of your manuscript or book concept. Before I can quote you a fair price, I must find out more about your book and read what you have written (if anything). As a matter of fact I always sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) out of respect for your rights as an author.

A full-length ghostwriting project often varies between $25,000 and $75,000 total, charged on a monthly payment plan.

Book Proposals and Bestseller Marketing Plans are $10,000 to $15,000 each (based on industry standards), or discounted to $3,000 to $5,000 each when added to a ghostwriting project.

Author Coaching is charged on a monthly basis and the price is based on your project and the amount of sessions you desire each month, for as many months as you need, start and stop as you like.

Q: Will people know I had a ghostwriter?

Not unless you tell them. I remain anonymous and do not ask for any credits. (Though testimonials are always welcome!)

Q: Do you take royalties?

No. You are the author and you deserve all royalties. The amount you earn from book sales depends on many factors, including your marketing strategy and publishing path.

Q: Who does the final proofreading?

Proofreading is done by a cold-eye, professional proofreader to ensure the highest quality for your final draft. If you prefer to arrange for a proofreader on your own, I will incorporate their corrections at no extra charge.

Q: How will I get my final draft?

I will deliver your final draft electronically as a Word document (.doc or .docx file). You may also request a hard copy (shipping charges may apply). On request I can accommodate .pdf files.

Q: What is a Certified Ghostwriter?

A Certified Ghostwriter is someone who holds a certificate from the Ghostwriting Professional Designation Program (GPDP) sponsored by California State University, Long Beach, the first (and still only) academically sponsored ghostwriting training in the world. GPDP teaches ghostwriting theory, techniques, and knowledge-base in one intense, year-long, masters-level course of study. To learn more, go to https://wambtac.com/certified-ghostwriters/

Q: What is Wambtac Ghostwriters?

Wambtac Ghostwriters is the only company that certifies ghostwriters through the program mentioned above. Founded by Claudia Suzanne—a ghostwriter with over 30 years of experience and hundreds of ghostwritten books, including bestsellers and award-winners—her team of experts ensure each Certified Ghostwriter exceeds your expectations. Visit https://wambtac.com/ to learn more.

Q: What happens if I want a new ghostwriter?

My number one priority is to make you happy. Ghostwriting is a long and intimate process and you should feel comfortable with your ghostwriter. If for any reason you don’t want to continue, I’ll give you all the materials I worked on thus far, and can refer you to another ghostwriter if desired. Because I work using monthly payment plans, this makes it easy to hand over all materials without any debts or refunds needed to either party.

Q: What if I want a Book Coach instead of a Ghostwriter?

It’s truly valuable to have expert assistance and encouragement during the otherwise solitary writing process. I’ll provide calls on a weekly or monthly basis (as you wish) to keep you motivated and on track, give you guidance, and help you finish your manuscript so it’s ready for publishing.
